Description

Owing homage to one of TEC’s earliest designs, the APO140ED, the APO140FL F/7 debuted in 2017 and has quickly become TEC’s most popular model.

The APO140FL F/7 features an oil-spaced apochromatic-triplet objective with a Fluorite (CaF2) middle element, resulting in color correction that is optimized for visual use and imaging. This oil-spaced triplet design, in combination with multi-layer coatings on all surfaces of the objective, ensures maximal light transmission.

The objective is housed in an aluminum cell, providing excellent thermoregulation properties while remaining lightweight and strong.

The optical assembly sits in a lightweight aluminum tube that utilizes anti-reflective coating and sharp-edged baffles throughout the interior. And forget about collimation – after the scope leaves TEC, no adjustment is required.

The crisp all-white assembly projects the elegant, handcrafted quality that TEC is known for. Expect deep contrast and rich, natural color from this compact and timeless design.

Each APO140FL F/7 comes equipped with:

  • A Starlight Instruments FTF#3545 Feather Touch Focuser, designed in collaboration with TEC.
  • Starlight Instruments’ largest rotating focuser with coarse and fine focusing (9:1 Planetary Reduction Assembly).
  • A 2” locking metal collet that is insensitive to temperature fluctuations and holds loads with high precision and concentricity.

The APO140FL F/7 can be fitted with other focuser models upon request. Please contact TEC to confirm compatibility.

In classic refractor fashion, the TEC APO140FL F/7 is a no-compromise, no-frills design that lets the wonders of nature speak for themselves.

Price: $7,800 (including an initial $1,600 refundable deposit).

Note: ALL PRICES AND AVAILABILITY ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE. The price initially quoted for a telescope purchase may not be reflected in the final invoice. Testing and Quality Assurance

TEC Telescopes go through rigorous testing to ensure top quality performance. Newtonian Rings are used throughout the glass production process and we then use an interferometer to correct any remaining imperfections. Every telescope is then tested vigorously to reach the most optimum Strehl ratio possible. Rest assured that your telescope has been optimized to be as optically perfect as possible. If the objective does not reach Yuri’s expectations, the telescope will not be shipped. As a strict policy, TEC will not release telescope test reports.

While the objectives are fine-tuned under interferomerical control to meet the highest optical standards, cosmetic imperfections may exist in the objective and the tube assembly. Please rest assured that any imperfection in the telescope has been determined not to affect the optical performance.

Binocular Telescope

$0.00

Description

Price varies: Contact us for a quote

All our telescopes can be built in a binocular fashion. Watch the skies with full range of view and comfort.

Binocular Telescopes comprise two telescopes of the same size paired on a single mount. This expands the range of view and adds extra comfort for the viewer. TEC can construct any TEC telescope model into a “BINO” as long as two of the same model have been ordered and the order specifies that it is for a Binocular Setup.

The APO140FL F/7 is especially suited for dual viewing of the night sky. The light and slender Tube Assembly has nice balance and a wider variety of mount options.

When ordering a BINO, it is important to consider the mount load capacity and any additional accessories required for the dual mounting. Due to the fact that a BINO comprises two of the same model, BINO telescopes are considered special orders and require specification when making the initial order. BINOs are essentially custom orders made to your specifications and require specialized construction and adapters. If you would like to purchase a BINO telescope, please specify in the comments in the order form and select to purchase two telescopes of the same size.

Please note that Binocular telescopes require at least double the deposit, because it comprises two telescopes. Furthermore, cancellations of a BINO order may incur additional fees prior to a refund.

Please know that ALL PRICES AND AVAILABILITY ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT NOTICE; the price initially quoted for a telescope purchase may not be reflected in the final invoice.
